Rose Chapel Repair

The historic Rose Chapel suffered extensive damage during the Christchurch Earthquakes. We completed the repairs and structural strengthening to the church located on Colombo Street in Christchurch in 2018, ready for its awaited re-opening.

Higgs Constructions’ team lead by Ray MacFarlane undertook the delicate repairs and invasive structural strengthening. Our team of expert subcontract trades undertook the restoration and rebuilding of many elements of the church, returning it to its former glory.

The project was awarded many awards in recognition of an outstanding achievement. These awards were, Three 2019 Commercial Project Awards, the National Heritage Award, a Gold Award and the under $2-5 Million Value Award. The project was also awarded in 2019 a NZIA Heritage Award and the SESOS 2019 Structural Heritage Award.
