200 High Street

This seven storey building on 200 High Street, in the centre of Christchurch’s CBD was constructed during the period 2023-2025. Due to significant site restrictions we erected our tower crane to assist with the build.

The project commenced as the base build on the seven storey structure. Higgs Construction negotiated the fitouts of all levels with the client.

This project was a very special development for our client. The project was successfully handed over at the end of 2025 allowing the client and their tenants to 0ccupy the building.

The design team led by AW Architect’s and our Client included Dev Structural, Inhabit Facades, Powell Fenwick Fire, TM Consultants (Mechanical & Hydraulic services) and Thermosash design & build Glazed Facade Contractor. The clients representative and Project Manager was RCP.

This project has since received the 2026 Commercial Building award at the Canterbury NZIA awards and was a Finalist in the 2026 NZ Property Awards in its category.

The value of the work was approximately $18.5 million. Our Project Manager on this build was Mark Weber.
